Little T Baker
It didn’t take long for Little T Baker to win the hearts of locals and become one of Portland’s best bakeries. The founder, Tim Healea, interned at Pearl Bakery and won numerous awards for his undeniable talents before opening Little T in 2008.
The bakery’s name comes from Tim’s nickname, “Little T,” which was used to differentiate him from another Tim in the crew. The baked goods at Little T sell out quickly on the weekends, so arrive early and hungry.
I highly recommend the Kougin Amann (pronounced “queen among”) because it’s the perfect combination of buttery sweet and salty goodness. The croissants and cookies are also a must-order in my book, especially the sugar cookies (which are known to sell out).

Lovejoy Bakers
Lovejoy Bakers is a beautiful sun-soaked space full of heavenly smells and delectable baked goods. The buttery croissants have a satisfying bite, the muffins are perfectly moist and the tarts can satisfy the most ardent sweet-tooth.
It’s one of the most popular bakeries in Portland so try to come early before they sell out of their breakfast goods. Don’t sleep on the Lovejoy Deluxe breakfast sandwich, it’s my favorite breakfast sandwich in town.
Address: 939 NW 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97209
St. Honoré
St. Honoré is billed as one of the best French bakeries in Portland. When I was taking French classes in college, I’d often meet up with classmates to practice over warm croissants and hot coffee. The quality of the pastries are a testament to St. Honoré’s commitment to traditional French baking methods.
My favorite thing at the bakery are the chouquettes (sweet puff pastry balls topped with rock sugar). But you can’t go wrong with any of the sweet treats. Just make sure you don’t miss the lunch salads and sandwiches, they always deliver.

Baker & Spice
Thanks to the massive success of their custom cakes, they opened a great bakery right next door where they serve smooth coffee and perfectly baked treats like croissants, coffee cake and sticky buns. Try to snatch a corner table, if you’re lucky, and spend an easy morning enjoying your freshly baked treat.

Grand Central Bakery
Originally started in Seattle, Grand Central Bakery made its way south to Portland and locals were quick to embrace the bakery as one of their own. Since first opening in 1993, the bakery now features seven locations in Portland, churning out warm pastries and excellent baked goods on a daily basis.
The bakery is best known for their bread, which is offered in various local grocery stores. I love swinging by for sourdough sandwich during lunch (it doesn’t get fresher than this).

Maurice
Maurice is a Nordic/French luncheonette specializing in fika, which is a Swedish custom that entails a break from activity to drink coffee, eat cakes and relax with others. This is one of my favorite local brunch spots if not for the pastries alone, I love the black pepper cheesecake and rosemary scones.
Address: 921 SW Oak St, Portland, OR 97205
Jen’s Pastries
Jen’s Pastries is a wholesale bakery that opens its doors for a limited time on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday from 9am-1pm). Specializing in bolos levedos (Portugese muffins), the baked goods can be found at several cafes in town.
Apart from the bolos levedos, Jen’s Pastries makes great pastries and cakes! The first things to sell out are the cinnamon rolls and seasonal cruffins, if you’re lucky enough to snatch either you’ll see what all the fuss is about. There’s also a few savory breakfast pastries to choose from, I’m partial to the tomato, pesto & mozzarella croissant.

These all sound wonderful. What I am also looking for is a place that will deliver locally to an address in Portland around Christmas since I live in MA
